ok i have had issues with my phone getting stuck at the nice little m on boot im not rooted and have had the phone into vzw for a update but still getting this. any suggestions to fix this past what i have found to be the only way to get the phone to boot. im not kidding when i say this i have to put my phone in the freezer for about 2 mins so that its nice and frosty then it will boot just fine am i the only one thats having this issue not sure where i read the fix at but want to put it out there for everyone else if they are having this problem too.

Have you tried doing a battery pull? And did this start happening right after the official 2.2 OTA? I had them send me a new one because of the boot issue.

yeah did a batter pull still doesnt help i can unlock the phone take pictures and turn it off all while the m is still up on the screen ive had the phone for 2 weeks now and it is my second one with a update from vzw running the 2.2 update only thing that has help is like i said when it sticks i put it in the freezer for a bit then it boots just fine. did some more digging on this and from what i have found the software is reading that the phone is to hot even though its just above room temp so cooling it down allows the software to move past where it get stuck checking the temp of the phone when booting

Apparently their update isn't working. They have had major issues with "stick on M" since the froyo update. I took it into verizon when I received my 3rd and told them to load it.

yeah that would be my guess probably going to take it in aging just tired of having to reset up my screens every time i go in but worth it to get a phone thats working right

Yea I didn't want anyone asking questions on what I was doing with my phone. And I've done it all. But I took my second right out of the box and put the OTA on it and it would stick on M every time I would reboot.

same here my second one was out of the box in the vzw store and stuck on the m but work ok once they did there update to it till i got it home the next day and started doing it aging so not sure what the issue is other than the software in the phone

Sort to hear that that. I would check into another one. It is under warranty.

I had the same issue. When ever I turn off my phone or the battery dies. When I try to boot it, it turns on and gets stuck on the m screen. I do a battery and sd card pull while being plug in to your computer (not wall charger) wait a couple minutes and put the battery and sd card back in and it will automatically boot. Somethings it takes about 3-10 times doing the process untill it works. But that's what working for me right now, I just got to make sure my battery doesn't die and ill be good. I was contemplating taking it to the vzw store but I can not afford bieng without a phone for a couple of days.

not tryed that i would suggest trying the freezer trick to see if that works for you. and you shouldnt be with out your phone for more than id say 30 mins to hour in the store if they only update or if they swap it out be the same time frame if they have them in stock if not they will ship it to you with a return label for your old phone. so that you are not without a phone while waiting for them to get a new one to you. the only time im having this issue is when my phone is warm from charging or being used alot.

I haven't had an issue with my phone being overheated or using it alot. Thanks for clearyfing the vzw store issue however my phone is actually doing good fort now. But if i come across any major issues ill head to nearest store and let them check it out. Thanks

its not a case of being over heated its being any hotter than room temp that seems to set it off on one of my other post i have up here i read about there being a issue the the temp sensor in the phone thinking that its over heated when booting if the phone is just even a little above room temp thats why putting it in the freezer works is because it drops the phone down below room temp and lets the software boot all the way with out getting stuck on the m. charging and using the phone for extended amounts of time will bring the temp up above room temp in no time which from what i have read can make it stick at the m screen when booting up
