I've got the 2.2 update notification from Verizon as of this morning. However I am already running 2.2 (Bugless beast and getting ready to play with Cyanogen). Is there a way to disable these notifications? I'm probably missing something simple here...

Thanks everyone.

Just tell it to go ahead and install. Your custom recovery won't allow it and it will make it shut up.

Please explain how this is safe to do. Is it a function of bugless? Or will any rom work? Does it matter if I have SPRecovery or does it have to be Clockwork?

Well I'm just following up on my original post here.

Custom recovery does indeed block the install, but the notification doesn't go away permanently. It comes back within 24 hours and frankly is annoying as hell. Anyone have any opinions on how to get rid of this notification?

Its really a combination of things that is going on. Yes your alternate recovery (SPRecovery or ClockworkMod) is blocking the install, BUT, your ROM may not be based on the current build so when Verizon looks for OS that need to be updated it sees you are on an older build and sends you the update. Check your build number (settings > about phone > build number. I believe the latest is FRG22D ( I maybe wrong but that is what I am running). If your build is not the latest out there then you will continue to get the update notification from Verizon.
