Getting phone through Amazon

I'm looking at getting the Razr Maxx HD through Amazon for $130. Has anyone ever had problems ordering stuff like this? I buy small things but never anything like this. Is there anything I need to know?

I would much rather buy a new phone from the actual carrier (in this case Verizon.) From a warranty/service stand point I have always had better luck staying with the actual carrier. Even a store like Best Buy would be better in my opinion. You then have an actual place to take the phone to if you have problems. I order all the time from Amazon for the little stuff.

The only issue I have read is that if you are planning on buying it there, you better plan on leaving it on the line for at least 6 months or they will charge you the full amount for the phone.
I work in Costco and I will never buy another phone through a carrier store again. We have the Maxx HD for $130 as well, but it comes with a navigation dock and an Incipio case. Plus, Costco offers Square Trade for handset protection, and it blows Verizon's insurance out of the water (so long as you have never lost a phone, that is).

There is a lot of fine print with buying a phone on Amazon. So much that I ordered my RAZR Maxx HD on verizon. com. & paid $250. Instead of $130.
& you have more options for add on's & insurance etc with verizon.com. Some of those add on's aren't on Amazon's site.

I got my droid 3 from amazon two years ago without ant problems. Verizon will accept any problems since you are still having a plan through them . I kyat ordered a razar maxx hd today and got the insurance and all. Cant wait to get it! Cheaper than Verizon!

I recommend you buy from Costco. They have the best all around deal hands down. They also have the best return policy.

I've ordered multiple phones from amazon and the experience is great. I even use corporate stores / *611 for warranty issues. And as long as you keep the line you activate the phone on Active you won't run into any issues with them charging you the full retail price. I've done this multiple times, switching the phones around my 3 lines of service and never ran into any issues

So as long as you keep it active even without data plan your OK? Basically put a dummy phone on that line?
