Froyo OTA postponed over bugs??? Is this true?

I'm not surprised, the short time I ran the FRG01B rom, it did seem to run warmer/hotter than usual and battery life was pretty bad.

Lets wait until we get some more confirmation. I've placed a call and waiting to hear back.

It is making a mess out of my phone. Audio playback is horrid! Can someone please point me to a good working download of 2.1, please????

I manually updated to 2.1 but have had a bad feeling about this one. Moto's track record isn't good enough to not have problems with 2.2 being released without negative fanfare.

yeah, audio's pretty bad, i get random "half-restarts" (it goes to the droid eyeball for a couple seconds then redraws my homescreen, but its not a full reboot), and it freezes when adding a widget sometimes.

other than that its great : )

if they ARE putting out a new OTA next week i can put up with it until then.. if not, i may have to finally root haha.

There was A LOT of that going around, I've been reading...

Miami is checking it out. He has to call his contact and then get back to us.

We should know more in a bit about this. Everybody is busy with there "real" lifes. Go figure. ;)

I can now confirm that this is true. OTA has stopped. A new build will come out.

Cool.

If it is true, maybe you guys should post some kind of a very visible special news alert to tell folks to hold off on the manual updating -- especially for those of us passionate about our Droids, but a little intimidated by tinkering.

And I read at Android Forums that we should be able to install the new OTA over the previous "official" froyo update. Is this correct?

We are indeed putting something up in the news.
