Froyo 2.2 and USB Tethering

I've heard many conflicting stories about Froyo and USB Tethering on the Droid 1. One of the reasons I want the droid is the USB tethering, since where we live we will not be able to get much for internet.

So, kind people, what's the answer? When the D1 is upgraded, will we still be able to USB Tether?
