frg01b vs. frg22???

Its so hard to keep things straight with all the new stuff being posted. What is the latest? What is supposed to be the actual ota? Should I just wait?

Best I can tell from reading some posts on this forum for the past couple hours. This is all speculative...but it was not me speculating...I'm just reporting what I observed...LOL

FRG01B leaked out to the community about two weeks ago. It replaced FRF84b. The last two digits represent a sequential build number. When it reaches 99 and they build a new one they change the third letter from F to G and start the last two digits over again with 01. FRG22 came out yesterday.

One person speculated that Vz pushed out the FRG01B starting Monday...ran into some snafugals...fixed it and patched it and released FRG22 to fix what they observed during the pre-roll out. One person posted that he knew a guy who had a cat that was kenelled next door to a place where a former Google rep worked for one day....this guy supposedly saw the OTA update of FRG01B and then immediately after rebooting his phonbe another OTA came through with FRG22 as a "Patch".

Again...I reitterate...I am simply repeating what I read for the past couple hours. Doubty any of it is true. But the sequence of build numbers is spot on.

Wait wait, are you saying that build frg01b shouldnt/wasn't OTA? Because I was running that for about two weeks and I got it over the air...?
Tonight it told me to update and it said exactly the same thing it did before about adobe flash and security...so I just ignored it until now. I updated and now I'm on frg22d

I recieved the FRG22B upgrade OTA yesterday here in Arlington, TX. I got the FRG01B OTA about three weeks ago. Besides being able to download Adobe Flash directly from the Market, I can't tell any other differences.

I know it's any easy mistake to make, what you got was FRG22D not FRG22B. ;)

And you're absolutely right According to Verizon's own PDF it does two things:: Allows you to access FLASH 10.1 in the market and has some security enhancements.

Read it for yourself if you like. Also recognize that it was not a huge file, more like a patch that was installed over FRG01B.
