Forum Search try it

Just calling attention to the feature as I see a lot of similar threads and posts. My hat is off to the mods who sift through it all. Maybe we can make their lives a bit easier.

I thought you were going to complain about it cause i was trying to find that "facebook app fix" thread literally 20 minutes ago cause i wanted to try the suggested solution and when i searched it a thousand topics popped up with not the one i was looking for. Try it

So i just went to google and typed in "facebook fix droidforums.net" and bam i found it.

I think that rather then use the forum search I prefer Google. Often it leads me back to this forum anyway.

Besides, I hate having to ask people how to do something. I'm afraid it will be something obvious and I'll look like a dork. lol

how many threads will come up if you do a search for threads about search?
:lol

I already tried, hoping there was already a thread about this so I could make a stupid joke.

Answer: 20 pages worth searching for search, 15 pages searching for forum search and 2 pages searching for "forum search".

:P

I'm telling you it sucks. Try it! Search Facebook fix and 20 pages come up. Not one topic in the first page which is 25 topics come remotely close to facebook. Unless it's user error i'm doing..

the week I have been on here I have noticed A LOT of people asking the same questions with out searching, maybe when creating a new thread there can be an option where you have to search first before the new thread is created....in theory its a good idea.

Normal life on just about every Forum.. you learn to live with it.. BUT we can all strive to do better!

BTW FWIW, I searched for a post saying the same thing I am saying here before I posted this. :-)

Another thing is to just report the thread with "already been posted" we'll close it right away.

Make sure they have a link or the thread title before reporting it though.

We are doing the best we can ladies and gentlemen so any help is greatly appreciated.

We want to keep the forums clutter free just as bad as you all do : )

Thanks.

Man, I bet you hate that part of the "job".. Doing "Thread cleansing" has to suck!! Hey, maybe they should do an episode of Dirty Jobs about that...OK, maybe it isn't that bad :-)

You guys do a great job, and I'm not blowing smoke up your butt. I think you're quick to take care of problems and do as reasonably as good on jobs on duplicate threads as you can. I'll start reporting the ones I see. Or make, lol.

If you click the "Search" link and type your query right into that first box, the default search behavior is 'Search Entire Thread'. Instead, click on 'Advanced Search', type your query in and select 'Search Titles Only'.

Then again, I only came to realize that because I took a little 'time' to figure out why a thread I saw a day ago wasn't coming up when I was searching for keywords I knew for sure were in the title. I dunno - seems like too many people give up waaaay too easy in searching for their answer, especially if said answer isn't on the first page of a sub-forum, or isn't the first result returned from the search engine.

Laziness - it's the next epidemic.

P.S. I feel bad for the mods...you guys are doing a great job, but your numbers are a bit thin compared to the amount of posting. Stay sane, lol.
