For the love of X, help!

So, I bought my Droid X day of release, the 15th of last month. A few minutes ago my girlfriend sat on it with a chair and broke the glass. I bought it at best buy without the extended warranty, what are my options?
Am I pretty much out of luck?
If so then fml.

Warranty is 30 days. Anything beyond that and you're stuck with the insurance option you agreed to pay $7 a month -- if you got it at all. Otherwise you could see if your renter's/homeowner's policy would cover it, because I'm sure you don't want to pay $600 to get a new Droid whatever. If you're lucky, you might find a used Droid 1 for about $200 on eBay or Craig's list.

If you have a contract you have to have some phone service through VZW for what's left of the 2 years, but if you have one locking you in for 6 months with a data plan you need to put a smartphone on that contract to replace the one that broke.

I think the reference was in losing the phone so you could get it replaced through the insurance. And yes, rock/hard place, though if you're lucky you might get a pro-rated replacement should you try.

I don't know, but if you asked a Mod or Admin they might be able to tell you how/if changing your name is possible. I just worry because spiders and bots trawl the net all the time looking for new addresses to spam.

Did you get the $7/month insurance option? I'm guessing not because of the no extended warranty. If not, Verizon might offer that pro-rated replacement, but you'll still be out a fair whack of money. In that case, you'll be best suited to cruising eBay and Craig's list for replacement phones.

Verizon offers the CPO option, however, the X won't be on that list anytime soon.

Try giving them a call and asking if you could add the insurance. Usually they will say ok. Well, they did for me anyway... my phone had fallen into a river. It was a bb by the way.
