First smartphone, first touchscreen

When the call log is on the screen, I'm having trouble scrolling through it. Whichever call listing I touch to start scrolling gets automatically called. I'm a Droid newbie, a smart phone novice and a touchscreen first-timer. Maybe I just don't know the finer points of using a touchscreen, but I've made a ton of accidental calls when all I want to do is scroll through my call list. Help! Thanks in advance for your help.

For me I learned to touch the screen with more pressure when I wanted to scroll, and light pressure to actually click on something. In my mind I would think it would be the other way around but that's what seems to work for me and this is my first smartphone and touchscrren also.
