Facebook pics featured as contact pics for some but not all. Why?

Some of my contact pics (in the phonebook) feature their Facebook picture but this isn't consistent for all my contacts.

I thought it was due to email addresses not matching between my phonebook and Facebook Info. I checked and they matched.

I forced a manually sync for Facebook but this didn't help.

I have one clue: I dropped a friend in Facebook and then we re-friended. His FB pic was displayed afterwards while it hadn't been displayed before.

Do I have to drop and re-friend everyone on Facebook whose FB pic isn't displayed on their phone contact?

Chances are it depends on your friend's privacy settings. If they don't allow third-party apps to see their facebook pictures, then they won't show up. I'd ask the friends that you can't see the pictures on and see if you can find out what their settings are.
