Facebook notification !!!!!!!

I can't get the notification part of my fb app to work. Can anyone help?

I have mine turned off and my Gmail as my address on FB. That way, only one of them is syncing which equals better battery life.

The only notifications I think anyone gets from fb are event invites and friend request. Just set up you fb acct to receive notifications by email. That's what I did

Make sure that within the settings of the Facebook app you have notifications turned on and that you have chosen a sound. I personally turned them off and only have them coming to my email so that I can save on battery life.
