What's the difference between facebook and facebook for htc sense? and why does the fb app often have issues and can't refresh / load notifications? "....something something..[null]" I have to go to the web to see everything.

I'm interested in this too as I had to do a factory restart on my HTC Incredible last night. Upon rebooting my contact no longer have facebook pictures as their picture and I cannot figure out how to get those back.
