External Mic for loud audio?

Hey guys, had kind of a poor experience while using the ustream app to stream a concert because the droids mic wasn't up to handling the super loud audio. A buddy of mine was also there streaming with his iPhone with an external mic that sounded much better.

Just wondering if we have any solutions for this problem, i can post the videos later if you want.

What you really need is a limiter/compressor.

What one was he using? was it bluetooth or something?

that was the mic he was using, it wasn't perfect but it was a vast improvement over mine. The bass just bottomed out and made a terrible noise on the droid, we tried the iphone with no mic plugged in and it sounded the same as the droid.
