My wife and I have been on Cingular/AT&T for a long time now. She has just had a basic Motorola Razr while I have an Iphone. I upgraded to the 3gs last year and really enjoy it. The problem is the service, as many of you know or have heard about AT&T. I live in a city, and as long as we are in the city, the service is good. My wife just took a job in a small town just west of here, and she gets no service in the building she is in. Even my Iphone goes dead when I am in there. I get one or two bars while walking around in the town. They need more towers, but I digress....
My wife recently came to me and said this isn't going to work. She is tired of not having a phone when she is at work or on the go. Sure, when she is in the city, it works well. However, she just can't handle knowing that the service is going to not be available when she is at work. She wants to move to a new provider.
Now, I am ok with moving to a new provider. There are some issues that I need to address such as paying $200 to port our numbers to Verizon and cancel our AT&T contracts. Another thing I have to investigate is the smartphone contract. What happens if I want to upgrade a year into my two year deal? Whats the cost?
The biggest issue though is moving from the Iphone to the Droid Incredible.
I love my Iphone. Sorry all you droid users. At the same time though, I am wondering just how I am going to like this droid phone. I played with the new Incredible in the local Verizon store close to me and it is pretty neat. I really didn't get a chance to go through all the apps in the app store, but I loved the service. My at&t service in the store was at 1-2 bars while I was at full bars with Verizon. I could surf faster on their network than I could with AT&T.
With all the things I liked about the Droid incredible, I am wondering if anyone else here has made the jump from the Iphone to the Droid. What opinions do you have? Any regrets? Any feedback?
Thanks for your time!
