Droid X USB Help Needed

Hello Droid Forums! :)
Let me start by saying that I got my Droid X two days ago and I'm very happy with it! :D
Well I tried to connect it to my PC, which is a Windows Vista, so I could put music onto my X. But something pops up saying "CD DRIVE (G:) Motorola" where I then click on "open files for viewing", like I used to with my Moto Droid, but then my computer freezes and becomes unresponsive, yet it returns to normal once I unplug the USB from my X. D: How can I connect it to USB to add music and pictures? Please help! <3

Various reasons could be the cause:
1. No drivers installed. If that's the case, google driver for DroidX for Vista and install.
2. You have too many apps running in the background of the Windows system. Try plugging droidx in after a fresh reboot of your computer.
3. Setting on droidx..once you plug the USB cable in, you should be able to drag the top bar down and select which mode you want it to use and u can click on mass storage only..or something like that.

hope that helps!

I have the same basic setup so ..

when you connect your droid do you get any notification from the task bar? Do you get a 'Moto Connect' message?

Once your connected and it 'DROID's ... pull down the notification shade and select the USB notification. This should prompt you for the type of connection. You want 'USB Mass Storage'.

At this point you will get 2 devices .. one will be thought to be a cd (i get g) and one that thought to be removable media (i get L) Clicking on the L drive now gives me a listing of all folders.

Is this your basic process?
