Droid X rooted no ota updates

Hey, I used to have the original droid and when I rooted it I was warned that I couldn't receive OTA updates. For the droid that wasnt a problem because I used Blackdroid and I was able to update like so.. but with no real roms coming out for the DX I don't know if I want to root because then I will not receive the OTA Froyo update..

Root wont block OTA updates. the ROM on the droid is what blocked it

so, you can still get the OTA but you will lose root when you do..

Though depending on what is being updated, the OTA looks for certain apk files or system to update. If you have removed or renamed one of those files, then the OTA will most likely just fail (I suppose it could instead cause a borked OTA or phone, but I think it'd just fail).
