Ok im rooted and have rubix....
I have the free app wireless tether I am still able to do everything it can do normally and still put out signal for 2 xbox 360's to used for live and 3 computers. I was just using my phone for signal to download a demo on xbox live while playing music and charging. The hottest my phone has gotten doing this was 115 which I popped my battery.cover off and stuck it up to a fan to cool it off. My phone is slightly over clocked to 1.15 for daily use since I dont do to much and im not sure what I have my setcpu at. My main question is can this kill my phone after prolonged use even if its kept cool? I was wondering because all in all this phone just keeps surprising me

I just want to know if it will kill my phone itself battery can be replaced im only worried about it killing my phone hardware.

ok now whats the hottest the processor can get?
the phone will power down before any immediate damage can be done, but i think i read somewhere that it was in the 135 degree mark. it is not unusual for my phone to reach 120 when i am in my car streaming pandora. Florida sun is a killer.

i'm having trouble finding info relating specifically to the x, but on the orginal droid, the processor would cook past 105 C (221 F). it is not recommended for extended use above 70 C (158 F), again these are processor temps, the battery would fry (along with whatever it was touching) long before you got that high. it is not recommended to run above 60 C (140 F). even if you don't bring the processor to it's fail temp, overclocking/heating put more stress on the hardware than it was originally designed to take.
