Droid X media player stopping?

When i listen to podcasts or music in my car via Droid X, I get half way thru a song or podcast and it stops playing. it almost seems like once the phone goes to 'sleep' mode it forces a hard shutdown of the song and media player im using.

any thoughts and suggestions to fix?

I know this is an old thread but to anyone having this issue ... I had it as well. Looks like the issue was the task manager auto kill app was killing this after a few minutes of playing. So if you have this issue see if you can add the music player to the ignored list, or stop the auto kill feature of the app.

You are correct. I actually deleted the app completely off my phone. Now the problem stopped. Music plays all the way thru.
