Droid Rooting Help Please!!!!!!!!!

[Foreverrr]

I installed SPRecovery, put the update.zip file on my /sdcard/ and when i go on my phone to install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated) i get like 25% complete when it says:

-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
Installation aborted.

Please help me!

before you pressed install/sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)
did you push allow update.zip ?

I'd try downloading it again.

OK then redownload the update.zip file and try again.

Well it doesn't see the update.zip (obviously). Have you double checked to make sure it isn't accidentally inside a folder somewhere?

I already re-installed it, It's just the ESE81update.zip, and after it installed I renamed it to update.zip and dragged it onto the root of my SD Card and made sure it wasn't in any folders or anything.

I'd try downloading it again.

I already re-installed it, It's just the ESE81update.zip, and after it installed I renamed it to update.zip and dragged it onto the root of my SD Card and made sure it wasn't in any folders or anything.

Very strange, if you have SPRecovery, if d/ling the file again doesn't help, I'd say try a differnt Rom, sorry

Where can I get a different ROM for just simply rooting my Droid? my droid isn't even rooted yet :\

Where can I get a different ROM for just simply rooting my Droid? my droid isn't even rooted yet :\

Here you go It's as it says Virgin Untouched, but it is rooted
[ROM STABLE] Android 2.2 FRF84B (Clean, Untouched, Virgin)
Download from OP
rename to update.zip
put on root of sdcard
reboot recovery
make a backup (if you haven't already)
wipe data factory reset x2
wipe cache partition x2
install
allow
install
reboot
