My motorola droids power button won't work anymore, the only way I can turn on my screen right now is by sliding up my keyboard. Can this be fixed? Or would it be too expensive?

Are you having the problem where your power/sleep button feels sunk in (or you aren't getting the haptic feedback that you normall do). If so, this just happened to my phone as well.

I read something where a guy took his phone apart and used a little super glue to fix it. I think I may take my phone apart this evening to see if I can fix it that way. If not, I don't know what I'll do. I am also curious to see if anyone else has fixed this.

The power/sleep button feels sunken in, I don't feel that clicking in feeling I use to get.

Yep, same thing happened to me out of nowhere last night. My phone is nearly a year old ad it just happened out of the blue.

Yea, mine didn't happen cus I dropped it or anything, it just suddenly stopped working on Saturday night, then completely stopped working Sunday morning, I think it just happened from overuse I do use that button A LOT.

I have the same problem. Went to verizon and they have to send me a new phone. Anyone have a really good back up application?

Mine did the same thing the other day. I'm just hoping that it continues to somewhat work for a while longer. I have never had any major issues with my phone and after hearing the horror stories about the refurbished phone am scared to get one. :(

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the refurbished phones. I originally had the Droid and had some problems with it and went through 2 refurbished. Complained enought that they had to give me the Droid 2 because they didn't have any Droids new. We'll see what happens with this one. If this one doesn't work right, I might change to the droid X...who knows...maybe another Droid 2... I have had Verizon for 15 years and this is the first phone that I've ever had problems with. Motorola has always been very very good.

Just an update on this. I popped my phone open and checked this problem out a little. The reason that a new phone is needed is because the problem is not with the exterior part of the button (that you push) but rather with the part underneath which can't really be fixed easily.

I was able to super glue that part of my phone so it holds a little closer to the exterior part of the button. This seemed to help a little although the button still isn't like it was before I had this problem. Hopefully this will last me another 6-12 months until I can get a new phone.
