I am currently running a rooted Incredible. Rooted with Unrevoked3, updated to Android 2.2 and running SkyRider 2.5 software. I also updated my baseband to 2.x.

I recenly updated my Kernal to 2.6.32-Hydra-ocuv-v10 ejhart@laptopone #2 version.. previosl was the stock Kernal 2.6.32.15 from HTC..

i really don't see any difference in performance.. I haven't had it long enough to see if there is a major difference in battery life.. but since there is no real performance difference i would rather not risk my processor and go back to the original Kernal..

or is there other reasons / benfefits to the Hydra kernal over the original

is there a different or newer Kernal to try?

is there a way to go back?

Well that version is undervolted so you should see an increase in battery life.

well there are other variables.. but running these Hydra Kernals are making the processor run at faster speeds then they are designed for..

I'm a regular droid user so my info my not count or be accurate, but with the Droid 1 the processor is under clocked, so may not be as risky as you may think.

Yeah, I just really don't wanna ruin my phone... Is there a way to undo this to be safe?

If you are rooted, Nandroid backup before you do anything that you are unsure about. Also I have overclocked my DI and I don't see any improvement except for linpack and other test programs.

I use ROM Manager to do my backups. I think it uses something called Clockwork or something? The only thing is... i've made two backups since then so is it overwritten now?

ClockworkMod is the custom recovery you installed on your Dinc when you rooted your phone. As far as back ups... each one should save separately. There for as long as you did a back-up before you changed to the new kernel you can just restore one of your back-ups.

Now what I do is date each back-up so I know where it came from and then I save all the files on my computer there for if I ever want to go back it's no problem!!
