Droid Exchange calendar item truncated

I'm hoping someone can help with an issue I ran into. I'm using the built in exchange syncing within the Motorola Droid, and when I use the "Corporate Calendar" function to edit my MS Exchange calendar items, it saves a truncated version of long items (as well as reformatting them!) that then overwrites the file on the exchange server and in Outlook. First, does anyone know of a way to restore the original items (without direct access to the Exchange server configurations or anything), and second, does anyone know what the file size or character limit is that is causing the problem?

I guess there may not be all that many users that have long calendar and contact notes, but this seems like a rather unfortunate bug for those of us that live and die by our outlook calendaring...
