Droid Email Issues

Has anyone ever received a "New" email, and when opened it is actually an old email, maybe six months old or so that has long been deleted and isn't even from the same sender? I am having trouble with both sending and receiving. I'll send an email, and get a very confused reply. When I read the message sent to them, it is again a deleted email from months prior that has nothing to do with them or their email address. It even happens when I reply to email, not just when I compose a new message. Any idea what is wrong? It's making me crazy!

I gave up on the stock email for pretty much those same reasons. I never had any trouble sending, but receiving was a pain. I'd end up with the emails I wanted deleted and lost the ones I wanted to keep. I switched to K9 in the market and haven't looked back since.
