Is there a way to get reminders to play an alarm even if the phone is in silent mode?

I used the app "Volume Toggle" along with "Volume Timer".

But Volume Toggle lets you set different volume levels for ringer, messages, alarms, incall volume, etc. Give it a try and see if that will work for you.
