Does anyone know how i can de-brick a droid 2 global engineering model? it was originally on 2.4.29 and after a guy tried to sbf to 2.4.33 it failed. then he flashed using linux and it was successful but stuck in a bootloop. I have since attempted to flash it myself on linux with 2.4.29, 2.4.33, 2.5.608 all successful but in a bootloop. Wiping cache and factory reset does not help. the boot loader is D0.11. Any help would be appreciated.

Already tried

Thanks for the reply. I already tried that but it doesn't come to life after flashing with the repacked 629 sbf. Also where can i download the 629 OTA update.zip . I was curious as to version of the d2g firmware upgrades the bootloader to D0.11 ?

608 has to be the last full SBF flashed, for repacked, to work

it's always been bootloader D0.11, atleast the non-engineering

i reinstalled .33 then I redid the offline update. It completed successfully. it is still in boot-loop even after reset to factory and wipe cache. but when i go to recovery mode now there is a pixelated screen that appears before the explanation mark android logo. also the recovery mode apparently did not switch to the new one on .608 also there is a message that says
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/caller
Any ideas?

Uhh, they just updated that thread with the "official" SBF for .629 apparently. I'm not sure, haven't tested it. Haven't seen anyone testing the official version. But you don't have too much to lose as the other method seems to work for people.

What WOULD be nice is if that one guy who made that bootable linux live CD made one for the .629 root method in rootzwiki.
