Download Directly from my Camera?

I love my droid... it's my first post and I thought I'd start with that.

Now my question:

I have a few digital cameras, before I spend $8 on a cable (mini usb to micro usb), will I be able to plug my camera into the Droid and download photos directly to it?

Is there anything in android that is similar to the 'Microsoft Picture and Camera Wizard' that pops up on my PC?

Are there any apps out there that can manage this?

Thanks for you help!

Works basically like any Digital Camera. USB connection creates Drive on your PC.

See page 38 of the owners manual http://support.vzw.com/pdf/user_guide/droid.pdf

He wants to plug his digital camera into the droid and transfer pictures from his camera to the droid directly. Not sure if that's possible...

DUH! mental note to read closer next time, sorry.

so that's a no eh... bummer... any apps that can do this or anything... seems a waste to not have it... should be a simple interface to have the data transfer.

I can't say for sure but I really doubt you can do that. USB devices need a host (usually a computer; ever notice the USB Host Controller in device manager?) and client. Cameras and your Droid both work as clients. If the OS is written to allow it you can, but like I said, I really doubt it.

If you do end up getting a cable, you can probably find it for a couple bucks on ebay.

yea... they're $8 on ebay, but I don't wanna spend it if I don't need it... too bad I can't drop right onto it.. there'd be some money in it if someone created an app that could do that...
