Double SMS Message Issue

I have a Droid Incredible with Handcent installed for SMS. When I get a text message, I have a box that automatically pops up, usually displaying an older message, and I can’t seem to make it go away.

I’ve searched through the forums and followed directions to try to stop the stock SMS notifications, but I can’t figure this out.

open up the stock messenger. go to settings and scroll down to Notifications. uncheck and your issue should be resolved.

Okay - I’ve tried that, but I’m still getting the box. Now I’m wondering if the box is actually from Handcent. I’ve tried to change the notification settings in Handcent, but I’m still getting the box.

aaahhh sorry. yes, the pop up is from handcent. open hancent go to settings, notification settings, uncheck Enable popup.
