Does androids os update on its own or?

1st does android have an update feature for the os? or does it do it automatically.

Go to system > about phone > check for updates is the first option.

Are you guys aware of any available updates to the OS published by Motorola, or Google? My update is saying no updates available.

Updates are pushed out by Google or Verizon (not 100% sure, I forget)...

But when an update is pushed out by them your phone will notify you. The Check for Updates option will not force an update to your phone -- it will allow to update if you clicked "Ignore" when it notified you of the update the first time.
