If I'm charging my Droid or texting, the screen only rotates if I use the physical keyboard. I thought if I rotated the phone, the screen would rotate as well?

It appears to only rotate to the left which makes sense since that's the way the keyboard slides out. Too bad i love everything about the phone except the physical keyboard. It would be nice if it rotated to the right as well.

Make sure you have the setting checked for this. menu > settings > sound and display settings > orientation.

i do have it checked, but it only works if im typing a text on my physical key board. If i turn it to text on the screen keyboard, it doesn't rotate.

DL Sensor test from the Market (free) and it will tell you the status of all your on board sensors. There is an orientation sensor. The app will let you see what's going on with the sensors when you move the phone. You may have a defective orientation sensor.

If you're rooted, you can use the script from xeudoxus over on alldroid to create a rotating display with 5 screens. I'm using it and it works great.

This is true, but he was having the issue while texting. It should rotate then.
