DMUpdater failed to root, please help

Well, I followed the instruction and downloaded a update.zip (10.18MB). Went into the recovery mode and tried to update and got the following error:

E: EOCD marker occurs after start of EOCD
E: Signature verificatio failed
Installation aborted.

I tried to download and apply the update twice and got the same error message. What's the problem here? Any suggestions? I'm running the stock 2.2.

Never mind. Creamers just answered my question in another thread. But what he suggested was a bit too complicated . Can I use EasyRoot to root. Can any experienced Easyroot user give some input here. Thanks,
