different sounds for different notifications

Is it me or can we no longer set a different sound for email versus text notifications???

I cant find the separation in Settings: Sounds like I had in my Droid X

From the text message app:

menu>messaging settings>select ringtone

From the gmail app:

menu>more>settings>your gmail acct>labels to notify>inbox>ringtone

And if you want a custom ringtone for a contact, select them then Menu, Options and Ringtone.
