Dell was at Computex this year and showed off their new Android tablets. They are introducing the Venue 7 and the Venue 8. Here's a spec breakdown:

Dell Venue 7 -

  • 7-inch 1280 x 800 display
  • Intel 1.6GHz Atom Z3460 - Merrifield line - dual-core architecture, 64-bit instruction sets and 1MB of on-board cache
  • 1-megapixel front shooter
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5 megapixel rear camera
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
Dell Venue 8 -

  • 8-inch 1920 x 1200 display
  • Intel 2.13GHz Z3480 - Merrifield line - dual-core architecture, 64-bit instruction sets and 1MB of on-board cache
  • 2 megapixel front shooter
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5 megapixel rear camera
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
There will be several hand accessories for these devices: a wireless charging cradle, a keyboard folio case, a rotating folio case and portable Bluetooth speakers. The tablets will launch July 1st, initially as WiFi-only. The 7-inch Venue will clock in at $159, while the 8-inch will cost $199. LTE versions are expected to come eventually.

Compared to the Nexus 7 ,with 1080p ips, 1.2 mp front shooter, 5mp rear shooter, quad core s4 pro clocked at 1.5 ghz, 2 gigs of ram with a 16 or 32 gb storage options for 229 (16gb model) and 269 (32gb model) on the play store, it looks like they are aiming to be a low end tablet option which is not a bad option. I mean I can see them selling this at Walmart or as a package deal with their laptop or desktop devices. And people recognize the name "Dell" much more than they would some of the other cheaper brand devices.

Agreed with the comments above. This seems like a solid value for an Android tablet.
