Sorry if this is a redundant post... just won 20 bucks for proving this can be done.. even with the older phones

First things first... delete the update
Go to menu/settings/applications/manage applications
Find the visual voicemail app and select uninstall update
You might get the notification " uninstall failed"
Don't worry about it... you still got one more step

Again go to menu/settings/applications/manage applications/menu/filter/all
This gives you the complete list of apps
There's a group in there that all have the android icon next to them and a com.anroid or com.motorola string..... find the one with "vvm" in it....
For example : com.android.vvm.services
That was just an example... yours might look different... most importantly find that VVM....!!!
That's the one holding the app in your phone
Select it and select uninstall

Badabing badaboom....

I was so happy to get that piece of crap outta there!!!

Your welcome........Aloha

I was wondering about that. If one wanted to reinstall, how do you do that? Don't see it in the market or on the Verizon site.

Hmmm...I don't see this in my list on the Droid (unrooted)...is there something else that needs to be done (I did the filter/show all). There are only about 5-6 com.android/com.motorola apps in the list and none of them have the vm indicator... I'd love to get rid of this **** thing from my phone! Thanks

if you want free visual voicemail youmail is FAR superior to the verizon one which costs 2.99 per month! ;)

Does that mean you don't know?

I have Youmail, I just don't like not being able to reverse things if the current solution becomes unavailable.

I'm in the same boat as you.. I do not see this as a listed app either.

I remember reading somewhere on here that if you uninstall built-in apps, recieving an OTA could brick the phone. Does anyone know for sure if that's the case? not that we'll ever be getting another OTA at this rate...

Also, I gave it a try, and I also don't see the vvm one....
