Deleting apps

Is there a way to deleted some of the apps that came with the phone like amazon mp3 store?

The phone has to be rooted in order to do that.

just got the droid, what does rooted mean? i switched from a blackberry.

when i want to remove an app i go to settings/applications/manage applications and then click on the one you want to remove. hope this helps
