So apparently the method of changing the boot animation for Froyo (stock ASOP) has changed. The videos posted are strictly videos, not boot animations running on Droids. I can't get the previous method to work:

su
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

I have the .zip folder set up like this:

desc.txt
part0
part1

When I reboot the phone I get the M logo, then a black screen for maybe 3 seconds and then Froyo boots right up.

Any ideas? I don't know much about the coding side, just the design side.

Is it not working just on 2.2 Have you tried it yet on a 2.1 Rom?
