If you like to go around taking pictures of things without causing too much of a scene with your obvious shutter there is a mod for you. While this seems to be quite the CREEPER Mod, I can see how this could potentially be used for normal activity. Maybe you could use this in quiet places like class, the library, or church. This would be the perfect way to take a picture of a sleeping baby without startling the sleeping baby, and waking him/her up with the loud shutter sound. There are plenty of legitimate use cases for a muted shutter. Normally a mod like this would require root, but developer "providence" has created an app that mutes shutter sound without root. This will only work with the stock camera app. The application mutes your phone when your camera app is open, once the camera app is closed volume is restored. So far this app has been tested and is known to work on the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Samsung Grand, Lenovo P780, LG G2, and Huawei Ascend D1 XL. This app may also work for other devices. The developer of the app is also saying that he will be adding compatibility for more phones. Head to the source link for the download.
