Creating graphic bar codes that can be scanned?

How do you make the graphic bar codes that can be displayed on a web page or on an Android device that enables another user to scan it with their phone and be given information or be taken to a website?

Thanks.

Thank you so much for this.

1. Are these universal? Will a Palm, iPhone or Blackberry user be able to scan these and have them work?

2. Does anyone have any examples for how these are being used on websites now?

3. Are there other sites that do this, or is this the only one?

1. Pretty sure there is a standard for this type of barcode, any device that can read them will read the same message

2. They are used a lot to link to apps in the android market.

3. There are other sites but this is the one I have found to be most complete by offering the most options

When you install Barcode Scanner,

you can convert your contacts to QR codes that are scannable by another phone. Its easier than vCard!

1. How do you get a URL for an app in the marketplace in order to be able to make one of these bar codes?

2. I already have barcode scanner installed and do not see an option to convert my contacts.

Thanks!
