Contacts Questions (Icons & Linking???)

Just got Galaxy S and wondering what the orange person & google icons are for and why each contact has 2 linked contacts. What does all this mean. Please help. New droid guy and want to stay droid guy. Just confused

Joined contacts are multiple contacts in one instead of getting doubled. You can link twitter and Facebook so you can get media and posts all in your phomebook. Pretty slick. Orange should be vzw back up assistant and Google is from your Google sync.
