Contact Ringtones Don't Play

I don't know if it was from rooting but every since I got the official Froyo update for my Motorola Droid, my contact ringtones playback has been getting worst and worst. When I was unrooted, it would sometimes play the ringtone specifically assign to them, now it only plays the default ringtone. This is so annoying since I know who calling me based on the ringtone. Any ideas how to fix this?

It may sound silly but the first thing to do would probably be to make sure the contacts are still assigned the custom ringtone.

Yes I did, they are all assign still.
