Computer turning custom set ringtones back to default

Ok so today I noticed after I plugged my inc into my computer, went to the pull down menu switched it to use as a disc drive so I could clean up my SD card, after I disconnected it all of my ringtones were reset back to the default tones, my text tone, fone ringtones, individual contact tones all reset to the factory setting, and when I disconnected I used the safety remove hardware thing, has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to change it cuz that is just really freaking annoying
