Open up ROM Manager, then push the menu button, clear download cache and try flashing again. Should work.

You can flash a rom in SP. It needs to be renamed update.zip and placed on the root of your sd. Go into sp recovery and install the update.zip. Its been a while since I've used SP, but this will work. You'll have to download the rom from a pc and place it on your sd. What rom are you trying to flash? I know Smart7 is trying to help, but his sig. says HTS Wildfire. Only flash Droid 1 roms on your phone. Here's a link to a few: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/an...ms-kernels-baseband-updates-source-leaks.html
