I'm looking for a Droid X and I'm not eligible for an upgrade until November 2011. What would be the cheapest place (online) that I could buy a Droid X? I've seen some deals for a Droid X for about $400 on craigslist and ebay, are there any other places that are cheaper?

If you have a dumbphone, you might consider adding a line to get an X at the two year subsidized price of $199. 99 after rebate. Sure, you would be paying an additional $10 a month plus taxes and fees, but you would have the benefit of the manufacturers one year warranty and paying for your new phone in smaller increments than one big lump sum.

Plus, when your original line goes off contract, you could cancel that line.

I have an original droid. I've thought about adding a line but I'm not the person who owns the plan.

I would advise against craigslist for a phone considering my expierence

It all started out great...

I met the guy and called verizon to activate it (btw it was a droid x)

After verizon activated it I was like sweet

and then...

When I got home I had no service

So i decided to do a recovery.

No help there

Then I called vzw, and they said they couldn't warranty it because it was active on another account

Then I tried flashing it and now I'm stuck in bootloader with a bricked dx

I added a line at 269.99 for a 1 year contract. 2 year contracts are for the birds.

Oops I meant to say that they phone was already activated on another account and therefore vzw cannot do a warranty

I have ended up sending it into motorola so ill see what happens in a couple weeks when I get it back.
