Charger location

I havent seen a 360 view of the phone yet, but does any one know where the charging port is located. I would hope they are smart enough to allow you to charge and use the kick stand at the same time. On the Evo it's on the bottom.

It is on the right side of the phone. It will be in the way if you are using the kick stand in landscape. There have been several discussions on this in the forum. My own opinion is this is the best place for what they are marketing the phone for. My point is this.

This is supposed to be a video chat device. They are showing this with the kickstand all the time in portrait due to this is the best angle for video chat. You can kickstand it and chat away. Well I watch movies and TV and use landscape all the time. The charge port would get in the way, but if it were on bottom then no video chat in portrait mode. . If it were on top then it would topple the phone when in portrait mode. If on the lest side then you have a wire sticking straight out of your phone when watching something and could cause phone to be less stable, even though that kickstand looks wide.. Also most people carry phone in left hand. Hence Apple having that issue with its antenna and the "death grip" Well based on the statistic that most would carry in left hand then charge wire on left side would get in way when talking and charging.

Again that is all my opinion. I was really upset when I first saw the charge port, but have been able to talk SENSE into myself.. like that.. :) I know you do.. sorry long day already..

Oh and here you go.. 12 pics of the phone from all angles..

Well thats kind of a a bummer, but I guess we will have to make it work. I would use the landscape mode more..watching movies, etc.
Thanks for the link to the pics

There is another option out there for chargers that I am not sure how it would work out.. .They have the 90 degree angle charge cable that might slide under the phone when in landscape, but I have not seen one in person and of course I don't have my TB right now to test it out.. But that is what I am going to try when the TB finally launches to see if it will work out.. To give you a visual here is a post from back in the forums that will link you to Google search and show you what I am talking about..

Not a solution by any means but the situation seems the same as the Droid having the port on the left side. It doesn't have a kickstand of course but when I watch TV or video, I use a business card holder that cost $5 at an office store to hold it in a nice landscape position.
(Office Depot Brand Metro Mesh Business Card Holder Black by Office Depot)

Since the port is on the bottom for this also (if I flip top to left), I flip top to right so the port is exposed on the "top". Then the volume rocker is on the bottom! It's always sumthin! So yeah, it seems the TB kickstand only makes sense in portrait and I'll stick with my the card holder for TB video.

Ok so got my answer to the whole 90 degree angle charger.. It will not slide under the TB. Just got back from playing with the demo unit at Verizon.. When the kickstand is out the charge port was flush against the counter.

In theory though you could use the 90 degree charger and it will just give a slight bump back in the phone angle.. less then if you used the standard charger.. oh well. only time will tell and as stated above there are other ways to charge and be in landscape.. of course using the kickstand and charging would make the most sense..

Yeah, he's right. It was perplexing to me at first as well (since the EVO is on the bottom), but then I realized that HTC opted to go with a side port on this instead, favoring the vertical video-chat functionality over the horizontal video-watching functionality as far as kickstand use goes (for one reason or another). That is a good solution that was suggested to get a cheap business card holder (or even some kind of desktop cradle or dock that will be available eventually) if you want to charge while in landscape.

What about the right side so when it's in landscape it is on the top? It won't topple over with that kickstand.
