Changing moto logo

How can we change the big M when we turn on our phone. I think it would be way cooler if we could use custom splash screens.

that's what I was wondering. I know you can do it on other phones like the eris, nexus, incredible, droid, etc but I don't know if anyone has figured out how to do it on the droid 2

The method used for the original Moto Droid wont work on the Droid 2, but it turns out that this method works perfectly! =D (I didn't see it beforehand because it is in the DroidX forums)

Zip Files to Change the Motorola logo on your phone

First things first, I take absolutely no credit for putting together the .zip files... Full credit for that goes to Team Black Hat. I also take no credit for the artwork... if I knew who to credit for all the images, rest assured they would be included here... =) The only credit I get for any of these is editing the images in Gimp and Frhed, and inserting them into the pre-created .zip file... I have personally tested all of these and they work beautifully, I just figured I would post them for anyone else who may want to get rid of that unsightly Motorola boot logo (Root and Koush's Bootstrap are needed, of course!) ;)

The attachments are below (it'll be obvious which one you're downloading by the names) =) All you have to do to install these is save them to your SD card, boot into recovery, install the zip (no need to wipe cache or data), and bye-bye Motorola logo... yes, it really is that easy! =) it will take you all but a couple of minutes at the most!

Also, if you want to view the Droid X forums thread on this (and download some other boot logo .zips), that thread can be found HERE
More Bootlogo .zips can also be found HERE

If you want to make your own custom Boot logo images, it's entirely possible (and semi-easy) to do on your own as well! Team Black Hat's instructions are posted in the Droid X forum listed above on Page 1, along with a starter .zip file attachment to place your custom image in =)

Enjoy!

Edit: Should you need the stock Motorola logo for any reason, it is on page 7 of this thread

Here's the Gingerbread one from the post above (I did add his red buttons, but I don't know who did the original image) as I can only upload five .zips at a time =)

Edit- I'll try to post some more of these (if people enjoy them) later on as I'll be making some more of them within the next couple days! Also, if you have a request for a custom boot logo, and don't have the capabilities to make one yourself, feel free to drop an image in the thread and I'll try to get around to making you one =)

New boot logos

Here's some more boot logos... I made these earlier this afternoon

A couple Alienware ones (which may be more for me than anyone else... lol), a couple Collegiate ones, another Droid one, some Star Wars stuff, and of course a tribute to Koush's Bootstrap

again, all credit for the .zip goes to Team Black Hat, and none of the artwork is mine... I claim no credit for it =)

.Zip files are below, again all tested and work perfectly (again, read the files names... it's obvious which one you're downloading)

dumb question, but if i have fission v1.2 installed, can i just install a zip from here and it will override the current one?

these zips will change only the motorola logo at bootup, and they will leave everything else alone; they should still work perfectly for anyone with a Droid2 or DroidX regardless of custom ROMs

here you go =)

SIDE NOTE (this was something I forgot to mention earlier): Unfortunately the backgrounds have to be either black or white, so I was unable to do the green one (although that would've looked pretty sweet!)

Edit: My Side note is LIES!! apparently it just has to be a solid color background =) I'll post some examples in a few
