change from Chinese to English

my new Maxx has arrived, with Chinese as its main language - which I don't speak, so I don't even know if I have started to set the phone up or not, here is what happens if I unlock the screen with the paddock on it
I get a big blue heading
a line of white text
a short line of white text in a grey box
the green android man waving
a line of white text
a short line of blue text

but the menu button doesn't work

from what I found on the internet, I figured the menu button would take me to settings and so languages

all I have found so far is how to take a pic! btw I haven't installed a SIM yet, that is still to arrive as it is smaller than my current one which isn't a cut out model

I have asked the Ebay seller and Motorola once, follow up queries have now gone to them, but I bet I get better information here, and faster!

I hope you got a cdma version If you plan on activating it with Verizon
