Can't use ADB in clockwork recovery?

Leaked version, darkslide rom.

When I hook the phone up to the computer while the phone is running, everything is fine, and I can use adb just fine.

However,


When I boot into clockwork recovery, I can't seem to get the computer to see the phone?

Adb shows no devices.


I've tried mount/unmount everything.

True, you can't. Why do you need to?

I like to customize my theme by adding different .png files to my framework-res.apk file. Everytime I do this during normal operation it erases my google settings.

I read that it's better to push framework-res.apk while in recovery, but I guess I am misunderstanding what I need to do.
