cannot install ginger bread...

So I have a droid X... it was rooted, I unrooted it,
and did a factory reset of my phone but that
Did not restore my boot logo... also on phone reboot it
Goes into clockwork recovery mode... don't know how to stop that.
and im guessing once all of this is fixed ginger bread will sucessfully install...
HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED! !!

I had the same.. ended up sbf ing it back to factory to take the update.. using RSD lite and the full SBF. Google it cause we can't post the file. Nice vid on youtube

It will restore the phone to 2.2.1 original fresh from the box.. once done you will need yo dial *228 hit 1 to reactivate. It will fix everything and allow the update

RSD is most likely going to screw up (as always) just do it this way. Save yourself headaches and frusteration.

Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems

There are 2 things I can't seem to understand. How to get people to forget about RSD when they have Droid X's and why people insist on using Droid X bootstrap instead of Droid 2 Bootstrap when there are like a million threads stating that DX Bootstrap doesn't work.

I have never had any issues using RSD Lite except for when I had a corrupt sbf file. Just saying...

Either have I. Just curious though about the linux thing. SBF is easy enough!
