Can you overdo it with widgets?

New to Droid.... Can you install "too many" widgets? or applications? Is there a system impact even if they aren't actually running?

From what I can see widgets run all the time, but they have a very small impact on the battery. Your battery manager in your settings can give you the details.

I have actually tested this. I generally have 9 widgets running on my homescreens. So for 3 days I took them all off and just left icons and I noticed very little difference in battery life.

Although, I should say, there may be some widgets out there that do hog battery life.

if they are on one of your homescreens I believe they are technically running. Most widgets require update intervals.

I have a rooted Droid with over 70 apps. All five screens are full and my battery lasts all day.
