I'm in no way very technical but I have a Droid X. I just went to Verizon Wireless and bought a ringtone. It was sent to my Droid and all I did was press the button and it played but how do I set it as a ringtone??? thanks in advance :)

To set it for all calls:
Settings / Sound / Phone Ringtone
Then select the ringtone you wish to use.

Create a folder named ringtones within the media folder and move your file there. Then it will be available...

That and you can get ringtones from the market and the app itself will put a folder on your card.

Do you know how to do this on a computer? (create folders, copy and paste, etc.) You could connect your phone via USB and do it thought the computer.

Zedge and RingDroid (free) in the Market - you should never buy another Ringtone as long as you own an Android Device

You can do it directly from your phone with Androzip or other file managers (free in the market).

Did Veizon send the ringtone via text message? If so, open the message and "longpress" on the ringtone file...a box should pop up asking you what you want to do with the file...Set as Ringtone should be 1 of the options...select it.

nope, longpress didn't work. I opened up the ringtone, the only thing there is a triangle to play the ringtone. I longpressed, all it did was play the ringtone. Uggggh I hate this phone!
