You could do what Bob said, because either way you're going to have to resize it on your Droid, to make it a wallpaper.

I really find the command line program (available on all OS platforms) known as imagemagick to be a very quick way to resize images -- and its fast -- and its also quick at converting from one format to another if you need so. This is the same program many websites use to resize their images when uploading photos, etc.
